  •     TDR has been working diligently on the "SPACE MACHINE" making chassis improvements to better suit Mike's frame, ha ha, as well as installing all new safety equiptment and updating the drivers compartment.  With a new General Electric J-85 being installed last fall, we don't forsee many needs on the powerplant, but we will still be working with Dick and Terry Rosberg to improve as much as we need. 

  • "Our hopes are high for the future in jet cars and we look forward to meeting all the amazing fans that come out to support drag racing as a whole," Mike DeWitt states in DRM magazine.

  BODY:  2001 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 12 color Custom paint, 2007 updated Ming chassis

  POWER: GE J-85 turbojet from F-5e Tiger & T-38 trainers, this beauty makes approx. 6,500 lbs. of thrust on kerosene or diesel, COMPLETELY rebuilt by Dick Rosberg in 2-2007, NHRA & IHRA certified

   SAFETY:  Twin Deist parachutes, Deist five point harness system, IMPACT driver suit, four wheel disk brakes, Pheonix on board Halon fire system, Hans device

   DRIVER:   Mike DeWitt is from Terra Ceia, Florida. He has competed in IHRA Sportsman divisons, owns a TOP FUEL dragster, and is and avid fisherman.

    CREW:   Justin Ryan, Jerad Eggert, Anthony De Witt, B. Ferrell, and Dick and Terry Rosberg.  Without these people nothing happens.

     FACTS:   Best run to date is 5.71 @ 279 mph, she burns 1.5 to 2 gallons a second with the afterburner on, 6 Gs on takeoff, -10 Gs when the parachutes hit, and runs at nearly 700 degrees. The GE J-85 turbojet engine is one of the most successful ever built,  over 60,000 pilots have earned their wings flying the J-85, J-85s have been so successful that they are under contract to be supplied to the US government thru the year 2040.
